What I do
The sharpest version of what I do is the first two together: putting AI and agent tooling into the manufacturing systems that already run the plant. The other two are what make that possible — and are worth hiring on their own.
MCP servers over the systems you already run, agent tooling your team can extend, and LLM features inside products that already exist. The hard part is never the model — it is giving it a bounded, reviewable way to reach your data.
MES, ERP and MRP integration, and software that talks to machines. I have folded a plant's worth of shop-floor applications into one system — and before I wrote software I ran a CNC grinder, so I know what it costs an operator when the software gets in the way.
C# APIs, SQL Server and Oracle, CQRS, and moving legacy systems forward without betting the company on a rewrite. Six years of it, much of it in regulated or safety-adjacent environments.
Zero to production, solo. Architecture, database, API, front end, payments, notifications, deploy. SmoothRaffle is mine end to end and it is live — that is the proof, not a slide.

A suite of separate proprietary C++ programs converted to C# and absorbed into a single manufacturing execution system spanning HR through machine control.

Test tooling and provable rule coverage for a low-code credit decisioning engine that has to be updated every time regulation moves.
How I work
One to two weeks, fixed fee. I read the code, talk to the people who run it, and hand you a written recommendation — yours to keep whether or not you hire me for the build.
We agree what "done" means before I start. You get the code, the tests, and documentation good enough that the next engineer does not need to call me.
By the month, part-time. Best when the work is real and continuous but nobody internally has the hours for it.

Before software, four years in the Marine Corps on F/A-18 jet engines and fuel systems. I finished as a corporal, plane captain and collateral duty inspector — the person who signs an aircraft safe for flight — and ran the night powerline crew on deployment. Inspecting other people's work on something that kills people when it is wrong is a serviceable education in verification. It is where this site gets its name.
